BLT - With a Twist!



Last week I made a delicious BLT on Sourdough Bread. Nothing special, but it was delicious. Today I had a craving for another, but wanted to try something a little different. A ripe avocado was calling my name so I knew that had to be included. The result is a quick, easy, filling and absolutely delicious  sandwich. I served this on homemade toasted oat bread (recipe coming once I perfect the recipe).

BLT - With a Twist
(makes 4 sandwiches)

  • 8 slices of cooked bacon 
  • 8 pieces of homemade bread
  • Lettuce
  • 1 Avocado (cubed)
  • 5 Cherry Tomatoes (cubed)
  • 1 ounce of Feta Cheese (crumbled)
  • 1 Teaspoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon of Balsamic Vinegar
  • Sea Salt and Pepper to taste

Cube the avocado and add to a bowl.


Next add the cubed grape tomatoes.


And the feta cheese.


Sea Salt and Pepper to taste.


Olive Oil,


and Balsamic Vinegar.


Stir to combine.


 Next toast the bread (optional) and add a layer of lettuce.


2 strips of bacon.


And a scoop of the avocado salad.


And the other piece of bread.

  1. That sure looks good! We had BLTs this week, but just the ordinary kind, I think the spiced up version you created would be wonderful.
